A positive lateral flow test result mean that you are likely to be COVID-SARS 19 positive at the time that the test was performed. A positive test result is issued when any line or marking around the T line on the test is observed.
If you have been issued a positive test result, the upload sent to our team contained evidence of a positive result on the test device. Now that we have issued this result, we are unable to amend this.
We issue results based on the first evidence supplied, and in the interests of your health and the health of the people around you, it is important that you seek further testing (PCR test) in the locality close to you.
We are unable to, and will not amend test results for any reason including further photo evidence. We know that tests that have showed evidence of a positive result may not show this after 30 minutes has passed, however manufacturer guidance states that results should be interpreted between 15 and 30 minutes, so any result outside of this time cannot be taken as correct.
All positive results in line with government guidelines are communicated to Public Health England.
We know a lot of people use these tests to travel home or to holiday and understand the impact that these results can have, however as a health care provider we must ensure that the results are given based on the first evidence supplied. Whilst we are unable to change this result, a PCR test may indeed find that you are negative on re test allowing you to travel safely.
